"it's not possible. you're alive. i touched your body and felt the life in you. tell me it's not true. tell me." truly five stars in my head, but ultimately has some glaring flaws i can't ignore (male direction, some bad acting). anyways GOD!!! lesbians,,, campy gore,,, a romance trying to hold on despite all odds,,, god, and it's beautiful! when helene washes the blood off catherine,,, when catherine is finally able to speak again and she initially can only speak of helene and her love for her,,, the way they hold each other,,, AND THEN THE DESPERATION!!! the way helene kills and destroys herself for catherine,,, catherine begging to die while helene fights to bring her back to life,,, desperate to bring back someone who's right in front of her, but not there,,, the inherent romanticism in cannibalism,,, the ending, which is inevitable but devastating,,, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
