Clark Gable
William Clark Gable (1 de febrero de 1901 - 16 de noviembre de 1960) fue un actor de cine estadounidense. En 1999, el American Film Institute nombró a Gable séptimo entre las mejores estrellas masculinas de todos los tiempos.
El papel más famoso de Gable fue el de Rhett Butler en la película épica de la Guerra Civil de 1939 Lo que el viento se llevó, en la que protagonizó junto a Vivien Leigh. Su actuación le valió su tercera nominación al Premio de la Academia al Mejor Actor; ganó por Sucedió una noche (1934) y también fue nominado por Mutiny on the Bounty (1935). Actuaciones posteriores fueron en Run Silent, Run Deep, una película de guerra submarina, y su última película, The Misfits (1961), que emparejó a Gable con Marilyn Monroe, también en su última aparición en la pantalla.
Durante su larga carrera cinematográfica, Gable apareció junto a algunas de las actrices más populares de la época. Joan Crawford, quien era su actriz favorita para trabajar, se asoció con Gable en ocho películas, Myrna Loy estuvo con él siete veces y fue emparejado con Jean Harlow en seis producciones. También actuó con Lana Turner en cuatro largometrajes y con Norma Shearer en tres. Gable a menudo fue nombrado la estrella masculina más importante a mediados de los años 30, y solo fue superado por el sorteo de taquilla más importante de todos, Shirley Temple.
