You don't choose. You're chosen.

Jimmy Valentino has been saved by a miracle - or at least that's what he believes. Given his second chance, Jimmy conveys what he's discovered to other terminally ill patients who, to his astonishment, quickly recover. Jimmy tries to keep his profile and the results of his interventions under the radar but when word spreads, the world converges upon him. A few admire him. Some try to imitate him. Most denounce and disparage what he does as dangerous and sacrilegious. When a patient dies after following what he believes is Jimmy's advice, Jimmy is arrested and prosecuted. With his life in peril once again, Jimmy needs another miracle - one that can't be questioned.

**_Meekness is not weakness_** A well-to-do man in western Massachusetts (John Palladino) faces a serious health challenge and comes out of it with a better understanding of faith & healing, which helps other desperate people and draws unwanted attention. “I’m Not Him” (2021) is a lowkey drama in the vein of “God’s Not Dead 2,” just mixed with a faith healing element minus the religious con angle of, say, “Elmer Gantry” and “Leap of Faith.” The characters are believable and fleshed-out enough, featuring a diverse cast. As with “God’s Not Dead 2,” the flick addresses very real possibilities in our litigious secular societies. I liked how the protagonist is humbled by his experience in the first act yet wisely never lets what transpires go to his head. Moreover, he refuses to fight flesh with flesh, which is unprofitable; he puts his trust in the Sovereign One. It runs 1 hour, 28 minutes, and was shot in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, which is the westernmost county in the state. GRADE: B/B-
